STAKEHOLDER ROUNDTABLES

The Network has promoted and sponsored a series of stakeholder roundtables. This series has the following objectives:

  • Dialogue: Building a bridge between the academic and the civil society/policy debates, by discussing key topics and challenges in the field of eco-social policies and by sharing insights/experiences from research and policy activities.
  • Strategic alliance: Strengthening the cooperation between the academic and the socio-political actors.

The roundtable series seeks to support stakeholders in creating solutions for socio-ecological challenges, by providing them with theoretical and empirical insights from the research in the field, as well as to provide academics with good/bad practices to be studied, and a better understanding of the barriers faced by policymakers in addressing eco-social questions.

Each roundtable targets a specific context or topic, and it gathers a small group of selected academics and stakeholders/policymakers who engage in an informal and open discussion, opened and guided by a coordinator(s). A written report is published to summarize the outcomes of the discussion, outlining the challenges, best practices and recommendations that emerged.
